Bearded collies are known for their lively nature and quick wit. Originally bred in Scotland to herd sheep and cattle, today they are loyal and faithful family dogs. Bearded Collies are highly intelligent and active dogs, and do well in herding, agility, and obedience sports. Their warm, expressive eyes and soft, furry coat will make you fall in love. The ‘beard’ comes from their coat that falls naturally to one side, and hair that forms a ‘beard’ around the face and chin. They may be medium sized, but loved to move and be showered with attention.
